Production Capacity: 110 Cubic Metres/Hour (m3/hr)
Unit Purpose The SHU unit is the first stage of the Prime G+ gasoline deep hydrodesulphurisation process. The overall aim of the Prime G+ process is to produce a low sulphur gasoline blending component from cat cracked gasoline with minimal octane loss. The reactions in the SHU reactor (D-2) are: • Selective hydrogenation of diolefins to avoid gum formation in SHDS reactors • Conversation of light mercaptans and sulphides into heavier sulphur molecules while minimising olefin saturation. The design treat gas ratio is 15 m3 of H2 per m3 of hydrocarbon feed, with a reactor inlet pressure of 23.5 barg, and temperatures of 160°C (start of run) to 200°C (end of run). Feeds and Products The unit is designed for a feed of light cat cracked spirit (LCCS), and up to 15% heavy cat cracked spirit (HCCS) with the following properties: LCCS HCCS 0.5% distilled, TBP (simdist) °C 2.9 146 5% 21.3 155 50% 72.0 176 95% 114.9 219 99.5% 138.2 227 Total sulphur, wppm 430 3250 MON (CFR) 79.2 82.5 RON (CFR) 93.1 94.4 Density@15°C, kg/m3 698.7 851.9 The products following distillation (D-3) are: • LLCCS stream to gasoline blending • HLCCS stream to feed to SHDS unit for deep desulphurisation The design specification for the recombined SHU/SHDS product is: LCCS product specifications Design Delta RON <4.65 Delta MON <2.00 Sulphur (wt ppm) 20 Yield wt % (LLCCS+HLCCS)/Feed 96.7
